Government
The area adjacent to Beacon Hill on the east side is referred to as Government Center because the Massachusetts State House and office buildings, Boston’s City Hall and some Federal buildings are located there. The news media often uses “Beacon Hill” as a metonymy when referring to the state government and/or the state legislature.
The voting districts on Beacon Hill are Districts 1, Ward 3, Precincts 5 and 6, and District 8, Ward 5, Precincts 3, 4, 5 and 11. Voter registration is located at the nearby Boston City Hall. |
