Charles F. Hurley Building Redevelopment

The 327,000 SF building, located at 19 Staniford Street, opened in 1971. It contains offices for the Department of Unemployment Assistance, MassHire/Department of Career Services, and other state offices.
The site will be redeveloped through a public-private partnership, which will infuse new uses into the 3.25-acre site while creating modern office space for state agencies.

The Mayor's Housing Innovation Lab

Suffolk University

Suffolk University is proposing new student housing at the site of the existing Ames Hotel at 1 Court Street in the Government Center area of Downtown. The proposed conversion will involve 114 rooms and approximately 280 beds of undergraduate student housing. Interior renovations are limited to furniture changes and security upgrades, with no major changes proposed to the existing site or the existing building facade. The project also includes approximately 2,200 square feet of active ground floor use consisting of a student lounge and publicly accessible retail space.
