2025 BHCF Grant Award Winners

From ABCD North Ed/West EndNeighborhood Service Center:
"The Beacon Hill Community Fund grant is enabling ABCD’s North End/West End Neighborhood Service Center to offer 10 yoga classes at the new West End Neighborhood Center at 75 Blossom Court, with approximately 20 older adults regularly participating. The welcoming, multi-level classes bring a diverse group of seniors together in the Center’s vibrant community room to build strength, balance, flexibility, and mobility while staying active and engaged. ABCD is grateful to the Beacon Hill Civic Association for supporting the health, well-being, and connection of neighborhood seniors."

From The Friday Night Supper Program:
"The Friday Night Supper Program is incredibly grateful to the Beacon Hill Community Fund for its generous
support. In 2025, a $2,000 grant helped us continue providing warm, nutritious meals and a welcoming
space for anyone who walks through our doors.
With support from the Beacon Hill Community Fund, we continued working toward our mission of providing
warm, nutritious meals and essential resources to our neighbors in need. Throughout the year, FNSP
served over 5,000 meals to individuals experiencing homelessness and food insecurity throughout Boston.
We also distributed thousands of clothing and toiletry items, including waterproof winter boots, helping our
guests stay warm and dry during the winter months.
We are so thankful to the Beacon Hill Community Fund for believing in our mission and helping make this
work possible. Their support allows us to continue showing up for our community with compassion, dignity,
and consistency."

From Rogerson Communities:
"Rogerson is grateful to our longstanding supporters at the Beacon Hill Civic Association for their contribution to improvements made on behalf of our residents at the Joy Street Residence. With assistance from the BHCA, we are updating the building’s exercise room, from replacing carpet with rubber flooring to replacing outdated workout equipment, which is currently residential-grade, with new, commercial-grade machines. As a community for people disabled by HIV/AIDS, the Joy Street Residence's ability to support tenants' health and well-being is mission-critical. Having partners like the BHCA in this effort means the difference between meeting the need and falling short. Their support tangibly improves the lives of our residents on Beacon Hill!"

From the West End Museum:
"The West End Museum's 2025 BHCF grant supported a performing arts event that combined the works of abstract impressionist Hyman Bloom, considered to be one of the last great impressionists, and contemporary composers. Bloom's work, now held at institutions including the MFA and MoMA, was heavily influenced by his early life as part of the West End (inc. North Slope) Jewish community. This event, The Body Revealed, the Spirit Unbound, focused on his celebrated cadavers. Music by Alan Hovhaness and Jean Sibelius was performed by students from the New England Conservatory of Music. Prior to the performance, Mass Eye and Ear archivist Vanessa Formato gave a short lecture contextualizing Bloom's cadaver paintings within the larger historical context of anatomical art. Guests noted the event as a stand-out in WEM's 4-year-old performing arts series."

From the Congregational Library & Archives:
"The Congregational Library & Archives joined the BHCA in 2022. As a small, independent library located directly across from the State House but somewhat hidden on the second floor of our building, we value the partnerships introduced to us through our BHCA membership. We are also grateful recipients of a Beacon Hill Community Fund grant, which currently sponsors a series of collection-based programs offered at no cost to the Beacon Hill community and the general public. A community thrives when residents, businesses and non-profits advocate for each other and together celebrate the uniqueness of its locale. Although our library has international reach, our BHCA membership helps makes our 14 Beacon Street location part of the neighborhood."

From Friends of the Public Garden:
"We’re so grateful for the support of the Beacon Hill Civic Association, which has allowed us to begin work on a Tree Management and Succession Plan for the Boston Common. This plan will assess the existing 584 trees on the Common and will guide the preservation and renewal of the tree canopy by mapping canopy health, identifying species diversity needs and outlining phased planting and maintenance strategies. We look forward to continuing to care for the park’s existing trees and utilizing the forthcoming Plan to ensure a sustained canopy for future generations."
