Beacon Hill is fortunate to count a number of independent elementary and secondary schools in our neighborhood or close by, as well as several public schools within our “walk” zone. Parents interested in exploring the public school option for their children are urged to visit the Boston Public Schools’ website (www.bostonpublicschools.org) in the early fall to find information on the options available to them and to understand more fully the process of applying for and obtaining a public school assignment.

To help in assessing the options available, the Boston Public Schools hosts an annual School Preview Time, usually scheduled between early November and early January. Contact any Boston Public Schools Family Resource Center, call 617-63LEARN, or visit either of the following web sites to preview planned activities and ascertain when particular schools are open to visitors:
