| Block Party |
The BHCA's "welcome back from summer" event held each September benefits from the assistance of members, friends, and neighbors who help with set-up, meeting and greeting, and clean-up.
A few hours once per year; September |
| Fall Move-In Day |
The BHCA extends a warm welcome to in-coming residents in early September by being on hand to hand out packages of information on the BHCA and to help inform new neighbors of important regulations, including trash disposal, parking permits and street sweeping schedules.
A few hours once per year; August 31 - September 1 |
| Clean-up Days |
Managed by Clean Beacon Hill, the fall and spring clean-up days leverage the efforts of committee residents with materials (brooms and trash bags) and special pick-up provided by the City to “deep-clean” the streets and public areas of the neighborhood.
A few hours twice per year; Spring and Fall |
| Handy Hillers |
Keeping pace with all the details of running a small, but busy office (monthly newsletter, as well as annual membership and annual meeting mailings, scanning and file maintenance) demands a core of ready volunteers.
A few hours one-time, or recurring and scheduled to suit the individual |
| Special Events |
In addition to the Winter Dance and Block Party, the BHCA hosts smaller occasions through out the year for example, bi-annual new member events to welcome those who have joined within the previous six months at different venues. Volunteers help with invitations, food and beverage, set-up, hosting and clean-up.
A few hours on or around the date of the event |
| Holiday Decorating: |
Each year, the BHCA and the Beacon Hill Business Association band together to festoon all the gas lamps across the Hill with ivy and bows to “dress” the neighborhood for the season. A month or so later, all these materials must be taken down!
A few hours once per year |
