Staff
The BHCA employs two full-time administrators who are responsible for office operations and supporting the board and committees.
Executive Director*
In July 2007, Suzanne Besser returned to the BHCA as Executive Director, a position she formerly held from 1998 to 2004. Throughout her career, she has served in that capacity for other nonprofit organizations. During her recent hiatus from the BHCA, she tried her hand at writing and editing for the Beacon Hill Times and the Back Bay Sun work she also enjoyed.
A native of Connecticut and graduate of Brown University, Suzanne moved with her husband, John, to Beacon Hill in 1997. Now residents of Acorn Street, the couple, who has four children and five young grandchildren, are bicycling, sculling and kayaking enthusiasts.

Lisa Horton is a recent graduate from Northeastern University where she received a BA in Public Communication and a minor in History. Lisa joined the BHCA in July 2007 as Administrative Assistant after completing an internship at Hill House in 2006. Lisa hails from Cobleskill, a small town in upstate New York, and currently resides in Jamaica Plain. When not helping out in the BHCA office, she enjoys running, reading and traveling.
