| Government Affairs |
Government Affairs is one of the BHCA's four main focus areas. The Government Affairs Committee is really a coalition of committees that seek to address matters that arise outside of the neighborhood, but have a significant effect on the quality of life within the neighborhood.
Government Affairs serves the neighborhood by looking outside the boundaries of Beacon Hill, monitoring those opportunities and challenges that might directly affect our neighborhood, and representing our interests in how those issues are resolved. Serving as an incubator of groups coalesced around distinct issues, the Government Affairs team works to identify new opportunities for civicminded residents to address a matter of particular concern to them and to find and motivate those concerned to represent the Hill in these matters. Committee examples include the Groundwater Trust and the Suffolk Institutional Master Planning Task Force. The BHCA Vice President of Government Affairs oversees all activities in this area.
