Zoning & Licensing (BHCA)
Zoning & Licensing is one of the BHCA's four main focus areas. The Zoning and Licensing Committee, with the active support of the Board of Directors, works to apply BHCA’s zoning and licensing policies in a reasonable and consistent manner that encourages residents and business owners to improve and invest in their properties, while respecting the rights and interest of their neighbors and the historic character and long-term goals of the neighborhood. The committee provides direct input to the City of Boston Board of Appeal and the City of Boston Licensing Board in consideration of zoning variances and licensing applications in the neighborhood.

The zoning and licensing committee meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. A group of voting members commits to attending all meetings and provides a cross-section of the Beacon Hill community. Abutters and all other interested parties are also invited to the monthly neighborhood meetings. BHCA Directors are encouraged to attend these meetings whenever possible.
