| MGH / Cambridge Street / Blossom Street Working Group |
In an effort to build a bridge of communication between MGH and the surrounding community during the construction of the new Yawkey Center, MGH created a working group to focus on bringing neighboring communities the latest and most up-to-date information about the progress of ongoing construction projects. The Cambridge/Blossom Street Working Group addresses issues of mutual interest to MGH and to the Beacon Hill and West End communities, including traffic and development concerns. The group, which currently consists of 32 members, meets regularly and includes representation from the Beacon Hill Business Association, Beacon Hill Civic Association, West End Civic Association, Hawthorne Place and the Boston Transportation Department. The areas of interest include the MGH Senior HealthWISE program, traffic and circulation improvements, street widening, traffic signage, MGH shuttle bus operations, West End pedestrian circulation, alternative access routes to and from the hospital, the Blossom Street landscape plan and the MGH institutional master plan.
