| Beacon Hill Architectural Commission |
Since the creation of the Beacon Hill Historic District in 1955, all changes to the exteriors of buildings visible from a public way must be approved by the Beacon Hill Architectural Commission, the body charged by the Massachusetts legislature with oversight of these regulations. The BHCA has long considered the architectural integrity of Beacon Hill a core element of its mission, as such it appoints two representatives to serve on the city commission and operates its own Architecture Committee which is actively involved in the public process that governs the Beacon Hill historic district.
For more information, including architectural guidelines, or to comment on a current construction project, please visit the architecture section of this web site.
